Complete Dedications

We should all understand the concept of dedication to YHVH and the Torah, to the point of complete self -sacrifice, we're talking to the point of death here folks. As the sheep and other animals gave up their life, then surely we must understand the obligation of giving up "everything" for YHVH. Only he who brings himself to YHVH as an offering can be called a man. It was in the ghetto, Feb. 8th 1942, that the Nazi's issued an order for the confiscation and destruction of all Hebrew materials of "any kind." After the order came many Hebrews took extreme measures to protect any and all of the scrolls they owned. Some dug pits in which, they hid the books. It was the children however, who manifested the greatest courage. Rabbi Oshry remembers upon concluding the children's class, he turned to his students and queried, "where are we ever going to get our Torah scroll to continue our studies with now?"

The students replied in an unquenchable spirit, "Rebbi, do not worry, we will each hide a copy of the Torah and of the Gemorrah, so that we can continue our studies." When he heard their replies, tears welled up in his eyes and he reminded his students what they were about to do came with much danger. "Rebbe", they countered, "it doesn't matter, if they shoot us, at least we died with holy intentions toward Hashem." Are "we" that ready to give up everything for YHVH and his Torah? The next time you
