Creation and Mishkan Parallels

On the first day of creation YHVH created "Heaven and Earth." This creation might correspond to the curtains of the Mishkan, as it is written in Psalms 104:2; "you spread out the heavens like a curtain." The Mishkan was comprised of ten curtains. The term Mishkan is specifically "only given to the curtains." The ten curtains serve as a roof for the Mishkan, as a picture of dividing heaven and earth. The very function of the Mishkan was to bring some of heaven down to earth. On the second day YHVH created the sky to serve as a partition between the heavenly waters and the earthy waters. Likewise, the curtain (Paroches) divided the area that was Holy from the Holy of Holies. YHVH created his world with boundaries and parameters. In fact, it states in Deu: 32:2, when YHVH divided the human race, he divided the boundaries of people according to Israel's population. On the third day YHVH said, "Let the waters beneath the Heaven be gathered into one area and let the dry land appear."

The creation of water coincides with the laver, which the Priests would cleanse themselves with. Water indicates to man that he is limited and can not go everywhere he pleases. The Priests could never go in the Holy Place without first washing their hands and feet. Also, the washing of the water of the Word cleanses you as you partake of it. On the fourth day YHVH placed the great luminaries in the sky. This goes with the Menorah which illuminates the Mishkan, whose light drives away the darkness. We know that Yeshua is the Torah and the Torah is what lights our path to walk by. On the fifth day YHVH created the fowl. Coinciding with this is the Keruvim. There is a spiritual aspect to the fowl represented by their ability to soar upward. It was from between the two Keruvim that YHVH spoke to man. On the sixth day of course YHVH created man. We certainly couldn't leave out man from the Mishkan. What good would the Mishkan be without the man? At last we see the seventh day when YHVH ceased from his creating.

We all know that YHVH never "needs" rest, because he never gets tired. In fact, he's still creating. Every time you see a new baby enter into the world, or a new tree sprouting, or a rain shower, you will see our YHVH is still in the creating business. Actually he created a "Holy Time" for his creation. For some reason man has such a problem from ceasing from all his work and observing this one particular day. The Mishkan denotes a person who possesses the Shechinah within himself. It is said that a person who is on the Mishkan level always feels he is missing something in his character traits. He feels the need to know more and improve himself. With a lot of people the more they know, the more prideful they become.
