Few Thoughts Regarding Genesis |
Gen.1:1
Beresheeth bara Elohim Aleph-Tav ha shamayim v-et ha-aretz.
Now let’s look at a few things from this passage. The first thing we know is the Aleph-Tav in the first line of the verse is Yeshua. The Hebrew word here is “et”, which is spelled Aleph-Tav. This is the first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Didn’t Yeshua say he was the Aleph-Tav? So who created the heavens and the earth, Yeshua! We have something happening in day one that at first glance looks like God is creating the literal day and night with sunlight and darkness and etc. However, this can’t be the case because the literal making of that took place on the fourth day. Let’s look at some word meanings. Without form…. Form here is tohu-which means waste or desolation. And void….void here is bohu-meaning emptiness. So we see here utter waste and emptiness. And darkness….darkness is chosek here, meaning death, sorrow, wickedness, and misery. This is different than the word for night used later in the passage. And darkness was upon the face of the deep….deep is t’ehom meaning abyss. And Elohim said, Let there be light….light here is Or meaning illumination, clear, happiness. And Elohim divided the light (Or) from the darkness (chosek). And the darkness (chosek) he called night….night here is different than darkness. Night here is lay-lah. There are two different words for darkness. One is chosek, which we said means a spiritual darkness and wickedness, and lay-lah which means more of a physical happening. So what we seem to have here is God dividing the spiritual darkness from the light of his Torah. Who is the walking Torah, Yeshua. Here might possibly be when the angelic host fell. Whatever the case, it is not referring to the “literal” sun and the “literal” night being separated here as we think of day and night, sun and moon, etc. When do misery, wickedness, and death happen to a person, when they are not walking in God’s ways, or more plainly, out of Torah. I believe we see a picture here in Genesis one of God separating his light from darkness throughout all eternity. We have one verse, one plan, one Torah, for all eternity. Everything else is chosek!
