At
first you might think by
saying “the book of creation”
that I’m referring to the
Bible. Although the Bible
is the true book of creation,
this book of creation is
titled the Sefer Yetsirah.
It originated from about
the third or fourth century.
There are several versions
out and each differing from
the other somewhat. Its
basis is really scientific,
presenting basic principles
by which YHVH created the
Earth. Yet, some mystical
elements are definitely
to be found in it. For example,
the world according to this
account, was created by
two principles, the ten
numbers and the twenty two
letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
Ten divine utterances brought
about the existing cosmos,
and the combined force of
the numbers and letters
contain in it “all existence.”
These
could be listed as: East,
West, North, South, Up,
Down, Beginning, End, Good,
and Evil. The three elements
also evolved from these:
fire, water, and air. There
are four worlds known as
the world of “emanation,
creation, formation, and
the world of action/making.”
These four stages can be
picked up on in Isaiah
43:7. It is taught
that the four letters of
YHVH represent these four
worlds. According to the
Sefer Yetsirah, all Hebrew
words are based on two letter
roots, of which are 231.
So you can see there’s a
lot out there to study,
the book of creation is
only “one little source.”
