YHVH
has always had a 'remnant',
someone that wanted to be
a separated nation, a kingdom
of priests. In order for
Israel to be that people,
YHVH required something
from them in their daily
life, as we see in Ex. 19:5-6;
Now if you will indeed obey
my voice and keep my covenant,
"then" you shall be my own
possession among all the
peoples and you shall be
to me a kingdom of priests
and a holy nation. If we
desire to be the same, shouldn't
the same requirements apply
to us? After all, YHVH never
changes and is not a respecter
of persons. In Ex. 19:7-8,
we see how the people responded
to his request; "All the
Lord has spoken we will
do."
Later
we see where Israel decided
they wanted a king to rule
over them like the other
nations had. Bad idea! However,
since Israel was considered
to be YHVH'S holy nation
and kingdom of priests,
he required something even
of their earthly kings.
He required the king to
write out a copy of the
entire Torah for himself
(Deu.17:18). Not only would
he write it out, but he
was to read it daily and
live according to its decrees.
YHVH did not want the king's
heart to be lifted up above
his people because he was
king. Even today YHVH is
doing this same work in
the hearts of his people.
He's calling back his lost
tribes to begin walking
in his Torah once again.
We
are called to be the fishermen
for these people, the people
who will say 'yes' to walking
in Torah. These are the
people who once again desire
to be a kingdom of priests
and a holy nation. People
who say this is only in
the Old Testament should
look at Rev. 12:17. It doesn't
say the dragon was infuriated
at the church group, but
the ones who KEPT HIS COMMANDMENTS
"and" HAD THE TESTIMONY
OF YESHUA. If you're a child
of YHVH'S, you should be
a child of the Torah, because
you are Israel!
