Acts
chater 10 is not
about typical gentiles of
the nations, but of a people
that were once of Israel
but had strayed off the
path of the Torah (they
and their ancestors) and
once again became like Gentiles,
lost to their true identity.
In Acts
10 we see that Kefa
(Peter) was in Jaffa at
the home of Simon the Tanner.
It tells us this was Simon
the Tanner who lived by
the sea. We have learned
previously that the term
“sea” in the scriptures
refers on a deeper level
to the nations. It also
indicates he worked with
hides, being a tanner. This
was something the Priest
worked with in their daily
job. So on a sod (deeper)
level, it’s saying he was
living among the gentile
nation, but he was really
connected to the Priesthood
in his heart. Now we also
read about Cornelius here
who was a “God Fearer”.
Isn’t it odd if he was a
gentile why he was doing
“Hebrew” things?
Why
didn’t Peter tell him, hey
Cornelius, you’re not under
that law stuff now, you’re
free from that “bondage”.
Let’s go have a ham dinner
together. And by the way,
don’t ask for that “tongues
thing” because it’s all
going to disappear anyway
when us top 12 are out of
here! As for the “sheet”
as the King Jimmy translation
calls it, that was a Hebrew
prayer shawl that had nothing
to do with telling Peter
what were unclean animals
were now clean to eat. Notice
in the vision that the sheet
comes to the “ground”, meaning
it was YHVH’S kingdom of
Torah on the earth. It was
YHVH’S way of telling Peter
not to call any “man” unclean
who was in the kingdom,
whether it be Jew or Gentile.
Yeshua, who is the kingdom,
had already came to the
earth to make all men clean
who would accept the gift.
Finally, why did the voice
speak to Peter 3 times?
It represents the 3 times
that Ruth requested of Naomi
to stay with her. This was
and still is a formula used
in Judaism when a gentile
wants to convert. They turn
you down 3 times so if you’re
not serious about keeping
Torah, you’ll give up on
the idea. Then and now it’s
always been YHVH’S desire
to see idolatrous Israel
who are indistinguishable
from true Gentiles, to wake
up and return to Torah and
stop acting like “unclean
animals”. So this was not
a sheet Martha, could you
endorse a “prayer shawl”
maybe?
