A
rash of teen suicides in Germany
has parents and officials
alarmed. The Times of the
United kingdom reports three
teens leaped from a bridge
to their death. On their bodies
were painted Satanic symbols.
The three boys leaped off
of a 250 foot high bridge.
One of the boys left a note
that said, “We are unhappy
with this life and seek a
better one.” Further investigation
revealed the boys were involved
in a Satanic group called
Blue Rose. The group is well
known for making suicide appealing
to troubled teens. Other teens
in Germany found another way
to “end it all.” Two 17 year
olds last summer sent messages
over mobile phones to their
friends stating: “Today is
a good day to die.” That night
they drove 90 miles an hour
into a tree and killed themselves.
The German officials are said
to be launching an investigation
to find out what is happening
to the young people there.
Some things that may help
these teens along is the fact
they are bored with their
lives.
Teens
now drive fancy cars, have
their own cell phones, wear
designer clothes, and generally
have no sense of a work
ethic. They have been given
everything they want from
the time they were children,
so now they’re bored with
all the “toys.” Some of
these kids who died expressed
their continual “boredom.”
The spiritual answer for
this problem is found in
Proverbs 6:6, “Go to the
ant, thou sluggard; consider
her ways, and be wise.”
It’s called “work.” Teens
today aren’t very familiar
with that word. Kids who
are working don’t have time
to get bored. According
to reports, the Blue Rose
group encourages bored teens
to talk in internet chat
rooms about the uselessness
of their life and the glamour
of death. Could these kids
be reflecting their parents
values? After all, a lot
of parents are so involved
in working to get more worldly
goods, they leave out the
spiritual influence they
should be having on their
kids.
The
parents aren’t living Godly
lives, so the kids suffer.
What has our generation
done to our young people,
parents? What have we done
to our own priorities? Have
we put giving our kids all
the “things” in life that
we as parents have lost
sight as to what is really
important to instill in
a child’s life? We know
the real enemy is Satan
working in these kids’ lives,
and he seems to be working
overtime these days. The
“rose” the kids are fooling
with certainly doesn't’
smell sweet!
